MediaTek, a major IC design company that will release the new mid-range mobile processing platform Dimensity 8300 this week, is supported by the flagship mobile processing platform Dimensity 9300, driving up October revenue to a new monthly high since 2023. Coupled with the announcement that MediaTek’s 2023 flagship mobile phone revenue will exceed US$1 billion and will become the main edge AI company within five years, Band stock price continues to rise, from a low of NT$625 per share in August to NT$925 last week. The short-term increase is more than 40%.
MediaTek Vice Chairman and CEO Cai Lixing recently shared company and product strategies with industry analysts and media in the United States, saying that smartphone solutions have achieved leading global market share, and the new generation of flagship mobile phone single-chip chips The Di9300 demonstrates powerful computing capabilities and can support various generative AI functions. It is estimated that driven by the new generation of products, MediaTek’s flagship mobile phone single-chip revenue will reach US$1 billion in 2023. In addition, it is expected that in the next five years, in addition to continuing to invest in technology leadership and innovation, MediaTek will also continue to deepen and expand its partnerships and provide our customers with excellent solutions with the most comprehensive IP and technology portfolio.
As for, unlike the previous “big core + small core” architecture, MediaTek’s flagship mobile platform Dimensity 9300 adopts a “4+4” all-big core design, that is, 4 Cortex-X4 ultra-large cores with a maximum clock speed of 3.25GHz. It is composed of four large Cortex-A720 cores with a clock speed of 2.0GHz. According to MediaTek data, the multi-core peak performance (Peak Performance) of the Dimensity 9300 under the new architecture is significantly improved by 40% compared with the previous generation Dimensity 9200, and the power consumption is also saved by 33% under the same performance.
In addition to excellent chip performance and energy efficiency, Dimensity 9300 has also made breakthroughs in the field of AI. Official data shows that with the help of Dimensity 9300’s seventh-generation AI processor APU790, the processing speed of AI edge computing can reach that of the previous generation. Eight times, that is, it can generate pictures based on text in less than 1 second. With such powerful functions, it has attracted the attention of the market, and the Dimensity 9300 is also hailed as the most powerful non-Apple mobile platform on the surface.
Immediately afterwards, MediaTek’s highlight this week is the launch of the Dimensity 8300 mobile platform mid-range mobile platform. According to market news, Dimensity 8300 will use a 1+3+4 three-cluster architecture and ARMv9 core, which is similar to the flagship processor Dimensity 9300, but the core and clock speed will be weaker. Overall, the Dimensity 8300 will consist of a Cortex-X3 ultra-large core with a clock speed of 2.8GHz, paired with three Cortex-A715 computing cores with a clock speed of 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A510 performance cores with a clock speed of 1.6GHz. The core consists of an 850MHz Mali G52 MC6 image processor. Like its competitor Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, it will be produced using TSMC’s 4nm process technology.
