Former Girls’ Generation member Jessica (Jung Soo-yeon) has been developing smoothly in mainland China recently, but her and her boyfriend’s side business has been reported again. The Korean media broke the news that her fashion brand Blanc&Eclare, the main store in Seoul, was enforced by the court due to arrears of rent , and her boyfriend Quan Ningyi also came forward to confirm the matter, but said that he would also take legal action against the landlord.
According to the Korean media “Law Times”, Jessica’s sideline brand Blanc & Eclare is located in the Cheongdam-dong main store in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It was sued by the landlord in December 2021 because Blanc & Eclare has repeatedly defaulted on rent since August 2021. It has also appeared in the media in the past. At that time, the settlement ended in June 2022. The condition of the settlement is that if the rent is in arrears again, it will apply to the court for enforcement.
As a result, at the end of 2022, Blanc & Eclare defaulted on the rent again, and the court began to enforce against Blanc & Eclare on the 24th of this month. However, Blanc & Eclare issued a statement stating that the first floor of the rented store is a clothing store, and the second floor is a restaurant and bar. During the period of the new crown pneumonia, it explained to the landlord that the entire catering industry is in trouble, and requested to suspend the payment of rent, but the landlord refused and informed them. “Leave after 3 months in arrears.”
At that time, I also told the landlord that there was a problem with the use of the elevator on the first and second floors. The shutdown time of the elevator was earlier than the closing time, which caused a lot of inconvenience. As early as April this year, it was decided to close the business and terminate the lease, but the landlord did not respond. Now All of a sudden, they were forced to pay the rent for 3 months, which prevented them from operating and demolished the store.
Quan Ningyi also accepted the interview of “Chosun Ilbo”, saying that the landlord did not abide by the original settlement conditions, and mentioned the use of elevators. He admitted that it was true that he had not paid rent for more than 3 months, but there were unavoidable reasons. Legal measures will also be taken against landlords.
