President-elect Lai Ching-te said in his speech that display technology and semiconductor industries support Taiwan’s economy. Last year, Taiwan’s display technology shipments and output value ranked second in the world. With an output value of approximately NT$1.12 trillion, smart display is the last mile of life in the future. The government will help the industry continue to thrive.
The Touch Taiwan Smart Display Exhibition was launched today at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall. Lai Qingde, Executive Yuan Vice President Zheng Wencan, Ministry of Economic Affairs Undersecretary Lin Quanneng, and National Development Council Chairman Liu Jingqing were present.
In his speech, Lai Qingde said that smart display is the last mile of future life. When he served as Executive Director in 2018, he was invited to AUO’s Taichung campus for a discussion, and subsequently promoted the “Taiwan Display Technology” project with a funding of NT$17.7 billion and a five-year period. “Application Action Plan”, with the efforts of all walks of life, has achieved fruitful results and has covered 216 projects.
Lai Qingde pointed out that Taiwan Display Technology ranked second in the world in terms of shipments and output value last year. Taiwan also established the world’s first Micro LED production line, and is optimistic about its continued development in the future.
He said that Peng Shuanglang, chairman of the Taipei Computer Association and chairman of AUO, once mentioned that compared with the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) market, Taiwan should focus on the development of Micro LED, so that Taiwan’s industry can win opportunities.

Lai Qingde specifically pointed out that Liu Jingqing, the designated chairman of the National Development Council, will also attend the opening today. The new government will cooperate with the industry and listen to industry suggestions; display technology and semiconductors are the main force supporting Taiwan’s economic development, and the government will pay attention to each industry and grow together. .
Touch Taiwan Smart Display Exhibition was held from April 24th to 26th. This year, it gathered 312 index manufacturers from 10 countries and used 882 booths. With “Lead to Infinity Leading an Infinite Future” as the main axis, the display content was in addition to the original wisdom. In addition to display and smart manufacturing, the first “Electronic Manufacturing Equipment Exhibition” was held, branching out into the fields of semiconductor packaging technology and electronic manufacturing equipment.
