A message from the Kaohsiung City Government’s Water Conservancy Bureau stated that due to the impact of the peak in the morning, the Central Meteorological Bureau issued a special heavy rain warning. This wave of rainfall was heavier at the Gangshan gauging station, with a cumulative rainfall of 71 mm; in the mountainous area, the heavy rainfall was at the Liugui gauging station, with an accumulated rainfall of 71 mm. The rainfall is 20.5 mm. The maximum hourly rainfall is 52 mm in Gangshan District, and the rainfall time is mainly from 6 am to 9 am.

The Water Conservancy Bureau stated that it received disaster reports, including one case of water accumulation under 10 centimeters in Yanchao District and water receding within 20 minutes, Dahupi drainage in Hunei District and road trees toppling in Qiefen District, and 3,266 households in Luzhu District and Hunei District were without power.

The Water Conservancy Bureau monitors 587 gates of 91 pumping stations within its jurisdiction, inspects flood control operations, and dispatches personnel to areas with heavy rainfall to inspect the effectiveness of flood drainage to ensure that the pumping units start pumping immediately and operate normally. In addition, the Kaohsiung City Environmental Protection Bureau dispatched cleaning teams from Hunei District and Qiecheng District to the Dongfang Road site in Qiecheng District at 8 a.m. to conduct environmental restoration and cleanup operations after the rain.
