Li Kunze held the “Kaohsiung Railway Station Parking Lot Movement Line Study and Existing Survey” on the 25th, inviting local representatives as well as the state-owned Taiwan Railway Corporation, the Railway Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, and the Kaohsiung City Government to discuss the station’s future entry and exit lines and the relationship with the surrounding business districts. He said that the current commercial building in front of Kaohsiung Station is expected to apply for a use license in June and hand it over to the Taiwan Railways Corporation in September this year. The hotel building is expected to apply for a use license in October and is expected to hand it over to the Taiwan Railways in January next year. He will also urge the Taiwan Railway Corporation to keep a close eye on the progress and plan the necessary operations for investment promotion in advance, hoping to start operations as soon as possible.
Li Kunze pointed out that the pedestrian traffic and vehicle route planning at Kaohsiung Station have a very important impact on the development of local business districts. After the new station is completed, it is expected to bring crowds to the business district and promote local economic activity. It will also put forward improvement suggestions based on on-site surveys of future inbound and outbound routes. It is expected that in early May, the Kaohsiung City Government will integrate local opinions and propose Specific improvement suggestions and plans will be handed over to relevant central units for evaluation first, and an inspection by the Legislative Yuan Transportation Committee will be held in late May, where all units will be invited to dialogue again to clearly point out the direction of improvement.
