In order to encourage children in the disaster area to start a new life, the representative office in Turkey and the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Turkey recently co-organized a painting activity to provide a stage for children to express their creativity and clear away the gloom. , recognized by the United Nations Children’s Fund.

The representative office in Turkey issued a press release on the 23rd, stating that it has recently cooperated with the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Turkey and commissioned the Turkish Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization (ASAM) to encourage children in disaster areas to participate with the themes of “My Dream” and “Taiwan in My Eyes” Painting competition, hoping to draw dreams and look forward to the future.

Huang Zhiyang, the representative in Turkey, said that this event received more than 1,200 paintings. Children’s works not only showed infinite imagination and creativity, but also allowed the outside world to see that children in disaster areas still maintain a pure heart despite the drastic changes caused by natural disasters.

Huang Zhiyang said that after the 7.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Turkey on February 6 last year, the representative office used US$7 million donated by the Taiwanese people to handle the “Turkey Earthquake-Stricken Areas Education Recovery Plan Case” in the five hardest-hit areas, including the establishment of 50 shared resources. Prefabricated classrooms with 850 computers, 6 mobile classrooms equipped with a total of 126 computers, and donated 995 computers to colleges and universities and government units.

Shakali, a 9-year-old child from Hatay Province, said that she was very grateful to Taiwan for its assistance to Turkey and for giving hope to everyone in the disaster area.
