New Taipei City Jinshan High School provided sponsorship through the Zhang Rongfa Charitable Foundation and invited all teachers and students of Jinshan Elementary School, as well as students from the junior high school, to gather in the activity center to enjoy a large-scale stage play carefully planned and performed by the Shuiyuan Village Theater Troupe, with the theme of “Travelers Through Time and Anti-Drug” ” is the title of the play, which depicts Lin Zexu, an anti-drug official of the Qing Dynasty who successfully banned opium, but accidentally traveled through time and space to the modern city, where he experienced a series of twists and turns of fantasy adventures. The whole drama breaks away from rigid dogmatic propaganda and instead uses fictional and real characters and scenes, as well as vivid characterizations, to remind students of the horror of drugs in a subtle way and guide them to bravely say no to drugs.
Wu Jingming, chairman of the Chang Wing Fat Charitable Foundation, pointed out that the foundation has been assisting disadvantaged families across Taiwan for a long time, but found that many of these families were broken up because of family members taking drugs, which caused various social problems. In particular, innocent students are more likely to be inadvertently influenced by adults or peers around them, and are at a higher risk of being exposed to drugs. Therefore, the foundation hopes to convey the concept of drug prevention and control through a relaxed and vivid drama method; and use the drama characters’ personal experiences to remind them of the dangers and consequences of drug addiction. I hope that everyone can stay away from drugs and lead a healthy and happy life.
Wang Youmei, deputy supervisor of the Campus Safety Office of the Education Bureau, pointed out that the establishment of national anti-drug awareness cannot be achieved immediately, and must be gradually accumulated through anti-drug education and publicity. The Education Bureau will continue to cooperate with the city’s network units and private public welfare groups’ anti-drug forces. Implement drug prevention publicity and education to prevent drugs from entering the campus, educate the public about the dangers of drugs, and create a healthy, drug-free and friendly campus learning environment in New Taipei for all students.

In order to make the drama performance more effective, the foundation specially invited all the teachers and students of Jinshan Elementary School to come and watch it. There were more than 600 elementary and middle school students in the audience, big hands and small hands working together to fight against drugs! The wonderful drama performance impressed the students deeply. Lai Zhengming, a student from Jinshan High School, said that through drama performances, he learned that drugs can cause lifelong damage to the body, which makes him regretful. In the future, we will bravely refuse the temptation of drugs and serve as the vanguard of anti-drugs together.
