Eight alumni and professors from National Chung Hsing University, the cradle of the cabinet, join the cabinet

The cabinet team of prospective president Lai Ching-te has been announced. A total of 8 alumni and professors from National Chung Hsing University have joined the cabinet, including Executive Dean Zhuo Rongtai, Executive Yuan Secretary-General Gong Mingxin, Transportation Minister Li Mengyan, Justice Minister Zheng Mingqian, Agriculture Minister Chen Junji, IOC Chairman Guan Biling, Personnel Su Junrong, Chief of Personnel of the General Administrative Office, and all seven of them are alumni of Xingda. Cai Mingyan, the retained director of national security, is a professor at the Institute of International Politics at Xingda, making Xingda overnight the cradle of the cabinet.

Xingda stated that Zhuo Rongtai graduated from the Xingda Law Department in 1984; Gong Mingxin graduated from the doctoral program of the Xingda Institute of Economics in 1997; Li Mengyan graduated from the Xingda Environmental Engineering Department in 1988; Zheng Mingqian graduated from the Xingda Law Department in 1980; Chen Junji Graduated from the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral classes of agronomy at Xingda University in 1980, 1982 and 1990.

Guan Biling graduated from the Department of Public Administration of Xingda University in 1979; Su Junrong graduated from the Department of Statistics of Xingda University in 1983; Cai Mingyan is a professor at the Institute of State Affairs of Xingda University. Since 2017, he has successively served as deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, representative to the European Union and Belgium, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Secretary, took over as Director of National Security on January 31, 2023 and has been here since.

Xingda President Zhan Fuzhi said that Xingda has been established for 105 years and has 12 colleges including liberal arts, agriculture, science, engineering, biology, veterinary medicine, management, law and politics, electricity and finance, medicine, circular economy, and international innovation. It is an important cradle of civil service training, with more than 7,000 alumni serving in the public sector, ranking first among universities.

Zhan Fuzhi pointed out that from the grassroots to the heads of departments, it can be seen that Xingda people are pragmatic, professional and give full play to their strengths. This time, a total of 8 alumni and professors of Xingda have been recruited to the cabinet and assumed important responsibilities. Teachers and students are all honored, and Xingda is willing to continue Serve as a professional think tank for the government’s important policies, and jointly contribute to the progress and development of the country.
