(Central News Agency reporter Huang Yashi, Taipei, 26th) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today awarded the “Taiwan Scholarship Program Academic Outstanding Performance Award” and held the “Taiwan Alumni Association” (TAA) Campus Promotion Ambassador Appointment Ceremony. 35 award-winning students from 10 countries were appointed as TAA campus ambassadors, hoping to gather more international support for Taiwan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an award ceremony this afternoon. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Parliamentary Secretary Tian Zhongguang appointed the academic outstanding performance award winners selected in the 112th academic year to serve as TAA campus publicity ambassadors. Many envoys in Taiwan attended the witness ceremony, and 3 St. Chris Students from Dofo and Nevis gave dance performances, creating a lively and warm atmosphere.

Tian Zhongguang said that in order to encourage students from diplomatic countries in Taiwan to study hard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs established the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Taiwan Scholarship Program” Academic Outstanding Performance Award for the first time in August last year. To maintain the friendly relationship, the TAA Facebook fan page was established in November last year to provide a real-time interactive communication platform for alumni studying in Taiwan around the world. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also continue to organize TAA exchange activities in the future.

In addition to presenting the “Academic Outstanding Performance Award”, Mitsu Tanaka also awarded the Rope of Honor and the TAA Medal, and appointed 35 award-winning students from 10 countries as TAA campus publicity ambassadors.

Tanaka Hikaru expressed the hope that this group of campus publicity ambassadors will make good use of social media to help promote the TAA Facebook fan page, actively participate in a series of activities organized by TAA, and gather more international support for Taiwan.

After the award ceremony, the first “TAA Facebook Fan Page Spring Live Exchange Meeting” was held on site, with the theme of “Studying in Taiwan”, and specially invited St. Christopher and Ni Donya Lynex Francis, Ambassador of Weiss to Taiwan, served as the keynote speaker and shared interesting stories about studying in Taiwan with the award-winning students from Eswatini, Belize and St. Vincent.

Envoys from friendly countries stationed in Taiwan also encouraged students from their countries to seize the opportunity in Taiwan, make Taiwanese friends and actively participate in campus activities.
