The 2023 Taiwan International Athletics Open took place on the 27th and 28th at Banqiao No. 1 Stadium in New Taipei City. Hammer throw queen Anita Wlodarczyk, who was invited to participate in Taiwan, was warmly received when she entered the press conference today (26th). Anita Wlodarczyk has won gold medals in three consecutive Olympic Games in 2012 London, 2016 Rio, and 2020 Tokyo (actually held in 2021). The world record of 98 meters, and the first woman in history to throw the hammer over 80 meters, is quite an achievement in the international track and field circle.
The conference stated that this Open is regarded as a prelude to the Hangzhou Asian Games, attracting many elites to participate in the competition. Li Yunchen, a teenager from Taiwan whose triple jump performance has improved by leaps and bounds recently, hopes to use the stimulation of confrontation with the strong to force himself to create better results.
The Chinese Asian Games training team began to participate in international competitions as a substitute for training in April, such as the World Athletics Intercontinental Tournament in Japan, and “Taiwan’s fastest man” Yang Junhan continued to perform high-end performances.
The “Prince of Hurdles” Chen Jie returned to the 400-meter hurdles at the beginning of this year. He set a season best time of 50.13 seconds in Yokohama last week and also met the entry standards for the Asian Championships; he also met the entry standards for the Asian Championships in Yokohama. There are also Chen Kuiru’s men’s 110-meter hurdles and men’s javelin champion Zheng Zhaocun.
