Yemeni rebel youth movement claims to have hijacked Israeli cargo ship Netanyahu refutes | Israeli-Palestinian conflict resumes | Global

--

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported that the Houthi rebels in Yemen supported by Iran claimed on the 19th that they had hijacked a ship in the Red Sea.Israelcargo ship, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refuted the statement, accusing it of “yet another Iranian terrorist act.”

In his statement, Netanyahu “strongly condemned Iran’s attack on international ships” and said that the ship belonged to the United Kingdom and was operated by a Japanese company. “The 25 crew members on board were from different countries, including Ukraine, Bulgaria, the Philippines and Mexico,” refuting the claim. The ship was not owned by Israel, and there were no Israelis on board.

The Israel Defense Forces (Israel Defense Forces) stated that the ship departed from Turkey and was heading to India when it was hijacked while passing through the southern Red Sea near Yemen.

Although Israel claims that the hijacked ship has nothing to do with Israel, there are unconfirmed reports that the owner of the ship may be Israeli.

An unnamed Israeli military officer described the attack on the ship as “an extremely serious incident with global ramifications.”

Iran has yet to comment.

Israel was attacked on October 7 and immediately retaliated against Gaza. The youth movement also launched a number of missiles and drones to attack Israel, and threatened to hijack all Israeli ships within reach.

The United States stated that U.S. warships in the Red Sea at the time had successfully intercepted all missiles and drones aimed at Israel.
