He was ordered to post a bail of NT$250,000 for other crimes.
The prosecutors conducted an in-depth investigation and found that the case was not simple. This morning, they directed the Criminal Police Department and other police units to go to the residences of the persons involved in the case, the dormitories of Yulon basketball team players, etc., and interviewed coaches, players, protective guards, team leaders, gamblers and Wu Jiying. Sixteen people including his girlfriend arrived at the case one after another at noon to cooperate with the investigation.
The prosecutor pointed out that the 16 people interviewed today include 12 defendants and 4 witnesses, 9 of whom are players (or former players); it is reported that Yulon’s current coach Li Qiyi, former coach Qiu Dazong and a protective guard surnamed Wei are here as witnesses. The identity of the other persons involved in the case has not been confirmed by the prosecutor and remains to be clarified.
Qiu Dazong currently serves as the head coach of the “Kaohsiung Steelmen” of the Professional Basketball League “P.LEAGUE+” team. Since he left Kaohsiung early in the morning, he arrived at the Shilin District Prosecutor’s Office at around 4 o’clock this afternoon with the police and faced the media asking “whether he participated in planning match-fixing.” “The case”, Qiu Dazong shook his head and only responded, “I am very tired, I am very tired from riding in the car.”
