An 8-year-old boy in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, mainland China, was beaten to death at a martial arts club last year, attracting attention. The boy’s mother alleged that when she rushed to the hospital, her son was already dead and covered in bruises. In response to this case, the Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau Chengyang Branch later issued a situation report stating that at about 14:00 on June 18, 2023, an intentional injury case occurred in a martial arts sports club in Chengyang District, resulting in the death of one person. After the incident, the public security organs quickly arrested three suspects, including the person in charge of the martial arts club, and took criminal coercive measures in accordance with the law. After investigation by the prosecutor, it was determined that the three people were suspected of serious crimes and were charged with intentional injury.
The autopsy report showed that the boy was hit repeatedly with blunt objects, causing traumatic shock and death from fat embolism in the lungs. Ten months after the incident, the Qingdao Intermediate Court will hold a hearing on April 24.
