A man named Li was walking on the trail and was crushed by a collapsed road tree. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. In this regard, Chengcheng Lake will temporarily close the park for a week starting from 12 noon today for cleaning and pruning trees, and will reopen after confirming safety.

Kaohsiung has been hit by local heavy rains or torrential rains recently due to the impact of fronts. A 66-year-old man surnamed Li was walking alone on the trail in Chengcheng Lake Park, Niaosong District, at around 10 a.m. when he was hit by a fallen road tree and suffered lacerations to his head and feet. He was pronounced dead after being sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The Taiwan Water Company’s District 7 Management Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs issued a message in response. Recently, due to the loose soil caused by the earthquake and the heavy frontal rainfall that stayed in the Kaohsiung area since the 25th, tourists in the Chengcheng Lake Scenic Area were unfortunately injured and injured when a collapsed road tree crushed them.

The Seventh District Management Office of the Water Supply Company pointed out that according to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Administration, there is still a chance of heavy rainfall in the Kaohsiung area today and tomorrow. In order to protect the safety of tourists and avoid unfortunate accidents, trees at risk of disasters in the park will be cleared and trimmed to clarify the nature of the Lake Scenic Area.
