(Central News Agency reporter Yang Kanru, New Taipei City, 26th) The New Taipei City Government held a flood control drill today on the high beach outside the Chongyang Pumping Station embankment in Sanchong District. It used a smart flood control platform to combine technology, video, and broadcasting for the drill. Mayor Hou Youyi said that a complete flood control mechanism will be established to improve emergency response. Measure capabilities.

The New Taipei City Government’s drill today was divided into normal times, pre-disaster preparation, disaster response, and post-disaster recovery. It carried out on-site pre-pumping of the Chongyang water pumping station, operation of mobile water pumps, and the erection of temporary water supply stations after the disaster.

Hou Youyi said that we must be prepared to face climate change. The exercise uses information, smart systems and video connections with various places to use technology, CCTV information and water detection volunteers to comprehensively respond to flooding situations and reduce disaster losses.

Hou Youyi said that flood prevention work must constantly adjust SOPs and establish a complete flood prevention mechanism in order to improve emergency response capabilities and processing efficiency and minimize disasters.

Song Deren, Director of Water Conservancy, said in a joint interview with the media that the smart flood control platform can systematically control rainfall and flooding. The water pumping station has a pre-pumping mechanism. Before a heavy rain occurs, the front pond, sewer and other spaces of the water pumping station are drained and turned into flood detention ponds, which can be used for various purposes. Measures have been taken to reduce flooding. Citizens can also check real-time disaster information on the city government’s “New Taipei Disaster Information E-Point” website.

The Water Conservancy Bureau stated that it integrated 118 road flooding sensors, 253 sewer water level gauges, 84 pumping stations, 129 rainfall stations, and CCTV information, and used the smart flood control platform AI system to monitor water conditions 24 hours a day, and used LINE robots to provide real-time information All bureaus were deployed to respond to the situation, and flood control personnel were deployed 24 hours a day, effectively shortening the flood control response time by more than 1 to 2 hours.

New Taipei City Councilor Chen Shixuan of the Taiwan People’s Party said that he suggested that the city government should respond quickly when heavy rains come and allow citizens to quickly and fully grasp the information as soon as possible. (Editor: Lin Shuhui) 1130426
