After Tainan City and Yamaguchi County established an alliance in July last year, Governor Muraoka, Deputy Speaker Shimada and others personally attended the opening ceremony of the Taiwan Lantern Festival hosted by Tainan for the first time in 16 years.

Muraoka Tsumasa said that we should support each other even more in times of difficulty, and Yamaguchi has continued to deepen its relationship through cooperation with Tainan’s tourism, products, and economic fields. Last year, Yamaguchi County promoted Yamaguchi’s hot springs and sake at Tainan Lin Department Store, and also set up stalls at the lantern festival. It was touching to see so many people enthusiastically participating in the campaign.

Liu Jujunxue said that exchanges between Japan and Taiwan in local governments and many fields are progressing smoothly, especially in the current chaotic international situation.
