Lords of the Fallen may not have had the best start in terms of performance, but Hexworks’ soulslike has been continuously improving since late 2023 to provide players with a better overall experience.
The culmination of which is the Lords of Destiny update. This version of the game is the result of all the player feedback collected over the past six months or so. It includes an advanced game modifier system, which introduces many new features.
With enemy and loot randomization, a triathlon mode (meaning once you die, it’s game over), and other changes, you’ll be able to switch up your game of Lords of the Fallen to your liking. This concludes the free content roadmap outlined at launch, which so far has added the following:
- Significant performance, optimization and stability improvements
- Strict difficulty balancing, including reduced mob density and weakened ranged attacks
- Split PvP and PvE game balance
- Online multiplayer enhancements to improve matchmaking and connection stability
- New quest lines including Season of Desolation, Trial of the Three Spirits, and The Way of the Barrel
- New armor and weapon sets
- Additional secret boss weapon abilities
- Improved boss encounters with additional move sets and new artificial intelligence
- 12 new spells, including Immolation to destroy the Arena
- New Critical Strike: Each weapon family now has two unique terminators: one for one-handed swings and one for two-handed swings
- 3 new projectiles: Hematemesis, Explosive Mines, and Frostworms.
- QOL updates include: inventory expansion, appearance reset, storage functionality and gamepad rebinding
