Wu Jianfu, director of the Earthquake Prediction and Forecasting Center of the Central Meteorological Administration, told the media in the early morning that these earthquakes in the early morning were still the aftershock sequence of the 403 earthquake. Wu Jianfu pointed out that judging from the experience of the 921 earthquake, the aftershocks will take at least 3 to 6 months to subside. Therefore, it is estimated that the aftershocks of the 403 earthquake will continue for another 3 months.
As for why the two north quakes were so strong, Wu Jianfu said that the main reason was that the earthquake occurred in the early morning, and the background noise was relatively quiet at night.
